WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER: QUICK WAYS TO SHARE YOUR CONTENT

Do you ever feel like you’re wasting time logging into all your various Social Media accounts to share your content? New blog posts, old blog posts, inspirational quotes. You DO know that you don’t REALLY have to be sitting at your desk to share those things… right?

Here are some of the tools that I use for social sharing — While I’m busy working on other things I make these apps and plugins work for me…. As the saying goes, ‘Work smarter, not harder.’

  • NetworkedBlogs – Make posting your blog to Facebook or Twitter automatic with this one. In a few simple steps you’ll not only have your blog publishing itself to Facebook & Twitter but you’ll also have listed yourself in the Networked Blogs blog directory. If you’d like to learn more about this or would like a tutorial on setting it up check out this one by Michelle Shaeffer.
  • Tweet Old Posts - This awesome plugin lets you setup automatic tweeting of posts from your archives. You can exclude posts based on category or by simply selecting the posts that you prefer to exclude.
  • HootSuite – Is a great way to share your content with your readers and fans. I schedule posts in HootSuite for Twitter & Facebook.

What do you use to make social sharing easier? I’m always up for new, efficient solutions for myself and clients so leave me a note and let me know what’s working for you.

  2. I miss the tweet old posts plugin on wordpress – I’m on blogger right now. I do use hootsuite and am really liking that. Just recently started using networked blogs again – forgot how much I liked it.

    • I like networked blogs for adding the ‘blog’ tab to my Facebook page but I don’t use it for syndication anymore. I prefer to post my blogs to my FB page myself. I do love HootSuite though… Have you tried the Hootlet yet?

  3. Love the tips and I know the plug-ins are for dot org rather than dot com so looking forward to a post of ways to share your blog from dot com too! Have an awesome blogging kind of day!

  4. I am super stoked because Hootsuite added a delicious item to their browser app Hootlet — Autoscheduling! YAY I admit that I haven’t done much with Hootsuite but this is definitely an added bonus! Thanks to Helen of Helz Design :D posting about it today! I like that it’s intuitive and NOTHING like the other guy (ahem … buffer) –

So far I have not been disappointed with Tweet old post — it at least keeps my twitter from looking totally inactive o.O LOL

Networked Blogs is great for some things like putting your blog posts straight into your fb Page if you have the app set up — which I do now :) and voting on others posts but lately I have learned that manually posting my blog posts to my page gets more views/reach. I am really dissatisfied with FB that they are trying so hard to nix 3rd party apps and penalizing everyone who uses them by messing with the reach algorithm. egads … it definitely is a love/hate thing with FB. Maybe some day it will balance out :)
